OUR MISSION

SING THE WORLD AWAKE! is a music and mindfulness project; which activates children’s highest potential through music, education, imagination and the power of connection.

Sing the World Awake! combines group singing to increase one’s sense of belonging; the use of sound vibration to calm the nervous system and activate the body’s self-healing mechanism; hand positions to stimulate the Eastern acupressure points and energy meridians of the body; movement to invigorate the lymphatic system, brain and circulatory system; as well as education to help us know that we are an essential part of this BIG world!!

HOW CAN YOU SING THE WORLD AWAKE?

KIDS CHOIR - Learn to sing with your whole body, mind and spirit! This 10-week course (1 hour per session) is for children 7 and up (younger children may be enrolled with special permission). The purpose is to provide the framework for inner guided self-expression - through voice, movement, creativity, and discussion.

SOME VERY SPECIAL FEATURES OF THIS COURSE INCLUDE:

Record 1 song live! Receive the mp3 at the end of the course.
The kids will script, prepare and act out a music video for 1 song.
Final performance at the end of the 10 weeks.

CONCERTS - bring a concert to your community, led by your kids, performed by local musicians! The kids will lead the concert and assist in the engagement of the participation of the entire group. Musicians will be brought in to create a group concert experience featuring all the kids and adults in attendance.

SOUND HEALING & MINDFULNESS FOR KIDS - give kids the gift of learning about the power of sound to calm, self-soothe and recalibrate the nervous system. Work with the sounds of the elements, bowls, flute, bells, strings and voice to relax and receive.

TEACHER RESOURCES - Short 5-10 minute videos for each song. Each video will be comprised of teaching the song through topic, words, melody, hand motions & intention. Included with each video will be a 1-pg pdf of the principles of the program and the explanation of benefits.This portion of the program is intended to be a teacher aid - both in terms of giving supplemental curriculum material, as well as to give teachers additional tools of self-care and inspiration.

Private Sessions - a variety of private sessions are available for children and families - all for the purpose of bringing greater harmony and balance into the emotional and interpersonal dynamics of the family system.

Ho'oponopono is the Hawaiian practice of reconciliation. The words are:
I am sorry - Please forgive me - I love you - And I thank you...

In this video the children of the Sing the World Awake! Kids Choir of Topanga, California are singing the Ho'oponopono for the healing and Blessing of the Earth.

In the Sing the World Awake! Kids Choir, the children sing sacred songs and learn practices to connect with the earth and the cosmos. Children are closest to Source. When they join together with the purity of their voices, they are heard by the Great Mother of the Universe.

They sing this Ho'oponopono to say sorry to the earth on behalf of any of us who have soiled her with pollution, deforestation, mining, etc. - and in recognition that our earth is precious and that our connection to the earth is fundamental in order for us to live joyful, happy, healthy lives.

In the Sing the World Awake! Kid's Choir, the kids learn songs for FUN as well as purpose. We combine vocal technique, breath work, listening exercises, and body awareness - to give the young voices a platform to shine. In addition, we utilize principles of mindfulness, emotional intelligence & self-trust coupled with educational components regarding environmental awareness, native wisdom practices and the interconnectedness of all life.

This song was inspired by a dream. It is about the earth, our relationship with her and with each other - sung by these beautiful children who poured their hearts and souls into memorizing all the words, who scripted the scenes for the music video and chose their costumes.

In this video the children of the Sing the World Awake! Kids Choir of Santa Moinca, California are singing the “Home” honoring our connection to the Earth and recognizing the power of our choices upon our future.

May this song serve as a reminder to all of us to work together in harmony to protect our earth and to care for one another - so that our beautiful world is here and thriving for our children and seven generations to come...
